Rybníčková, Michaela ; Kocourková, Gabriela (referee) ; Bartes, Richard (advisor)
This master's thesis addresses the utilization of subsidy funds for urban development. Within the analysis, the economic management of the town of Kuřim from 2018 to 2022 was examined. The theoretical framework of the study focuses on the examination of income sources, their distribution, and amounts, with a key emphasis on analyzing the impact of subsidy funds on the overall economic context of the town. The concluding section of the thesis evaluates a specific project: the establishment of a transportation terminal in the town of Kuřim, which was implemented using subsidy funds provided by the European Union. The Cost-Benefit Analysis method is employed for the financial and economic analysis of the project, that includes the valuation of socio-economic impacts and the calculation of key criteria such as NPV, IRR, IR, and return on investment. The results of the financial analysis clearly indicate that the project would be almost unfeasible without subsidy utilization over its lifespan. However, even after incorporating the subsidy, the project remains unprofitable. Therefore, an economic analysis, relevant for a project of public nature, was also conducted. Consideration of economic factors demonstrates the overall benefit and contribution of the project to the town of Kuřim in the context of its long-term sustainability and development.

The theoretical part presents fundamental topics from the field that are points of focus for the media and places them in a wider context with an emphasis on the housing situation in Prague. It also presents individual aspects that could have an influence on messages in the media, including the role of media ownership and the ideological beliefs of individual journalists. The work further discusses the presentation of developers in the media and their general reputations. The practical part of the paper employs three different research methods. The first is a content analysis focused on mainstream media, where we examine how they cover the topic over a specific period. The second includes a qualitative analysis that is based on interviews with a representative from the public sector, the private sector, and a non-profit. Adaptabilita sídelní struktury suburbánního prostředí
Jenčková, Barbora
The free landscape of the suburban area still creates space for the formation of new settlement structures. Some new constructions in the perimeter of large cities arise in relation to existing settlements in response to demand in a settlement or region, but many are almost independent of local conditions and needs. While a new monofunctional housing development is being developed at the margins of the original municipalities, industrial and logistic areas are being formed in the open countryside, which significantly influence the landscape and the image of settlements. In particular, these are areas and objects of over-local use, the emergence of which is determined by need in a global context and which are linked to the existence of over-local transport infrastructure. In the perimeter of the city of Brno, the links between new structures and existing settlements, the extent of the benefits of new interventions or the weakening of existing settlement structures by these interventions and the adaptability of original and new settlement structures in relation to these phenomena are examined.
